Despite the challenges and darkness that continue from the ongoing war, the Lord continues to work in people’s hearts in Ukraine and the surrounding nations. The Ukraine Crisis Fund supports many individuals affected by the war, especially through the care of local churches.
Thank you for your generosity which allows for continued ministry in a country that desperately needs the hope of the gospel.
Escaping the heat and air raid sirens for a week, Way of Truth Church in Kyiv invited and received over 40 teenagers and young adults, many of whom are unbelievers and children of soldiers fighting in the war, to their English Camp. In a forest outside Fastiv, Ukraine, these campers daily had the opportunity to hear testimonies from the staff, key stories from the Bible, and, most importantly, the gospel while also practicing their language skills with native English speaking missionaries. Speaking the Truth and living out the Truth have always been essential components of English Camp, and these relationships don’t end with camp. These national partners from Way of Truth Church seek to continue the relationships they formed at camp, inviting those who attended to their youth group and church.
Veronika, one of the Ukrainian translators from Way of Truth Church shared her story about serving in this ministry. “It’s our investment to tell people about Christ. Seven days talking about Christ really helps them. Church is the usual way. Even the feeling of camp–friendly and fresh—it’s a good way to get to know Christ. When I was little, my parents went to church sometimes. After camp, I wanted to be in the community, the atmosphere. The camp was the thing that really pushed me. I knew some things, but not clearly.”
The Ukraine Crisis Fund was able to help offset some of the costs of this year’s English Camp. Coming alongside the Ukrainian people in the midst of hard times can take many forms. Thank you for investing in the hearts and souls of Ukraine’s next generation.
