Ecuador
“We are constantly amazed at what God is doing in Ecuador. People say he opens doors, but in Ecuador, we see him knocking down walls. It is a great joy to be a part of what he is doing in this country.” — Jeff and Deanne Davoll, Guayaquil, Ecuador
The Spiritual Need in Ecuador
Ecuador is filled with incredible diversity. From Andean peaks to the deep Amazon jungle, or from the Pacific coast to thriving metropolitan cities—the landscapes are just as diverse as its population of 16.5 million people. Most Ecuadorians have Mestizo heritage, as descendants of Spanish colonists and indigenous Indians, while many still make up various indigenous Indian groups that hold to the dress and culture of their forefathers. About 77% of Ecuadorians identify as Roman Catholic and about 11% as evangelical believers—but the number of evangelicals is growing, contributing to the great need for Christian missions to Ecuador, sound biblical teaching and church planting.
Christian Missions To Ecuador
ABWE missionaries began working in Ecuador in 2005. Today, our main ministries are located in Quito, the capital, and Guayaquil, the major industrial center and most populated city. It is ABWE’s desire for our missionaries to partner with national believers and expand ministry beyond these cities and throughout the country.
There are many opportunities for dedicated disciple makers to help in church planting, sports ministry, police ministry, and medical ministry. God’s plan for the Ecuadorian people is full of hope and promise—will you join us in missions in Ecuador?
