The Spiritual Need in Tanzania

While the gospel is spreading in Tanzania, there are still areas of the country that have very little gospel presence. Some say that Christianity in Tanzania is a mile wide but only an inch deep. There is very little spiritual depth in the churches, but God has opened opportunities for us to disciple and minister in the country.

Tanzania is located in East Africa, south of Kenya on the Indian Ocean. It’s directly in the path of the spread of Islam down the African coast, which has left many North African countries closed to missions work, but while Tanzania is about 30 percent Muslim, opportunities for ministry in Tanzania are still wide open. Right now is a critical time to plant new churches and strengthen existing churches so we can continue to deepen the faith of Tanzanians and spread of the gospel throughout Africa.

We are looking for humble believers who are willing to invest in the lives of Tanzanians, teaching the gospel not only by our words but also by living a life of love.

ABWE Canada in Tanzania

Since 2012, our Tanzania team has been sharing the gospel through evangelism, discipleship, college ministry, youth camps, teaching English, preaching in Tanzanian churches, and Sifa Threads, a unique sewing ministry for young women. We have been working to serve communities and equip the church in the hope of expanding the gospel’s reach and igniting a church-planting movement. We have already been blessed to see Tanzanians catching a vision for their part in the Great Commission.
