English Conversationalist

The Position

Are you looking for an opportunity to sit-down and talk with people about life, family, culture? Are you a good listener, question-asker and love caring for people? We are looking for individuals who would be willing to come live in Spain for 10-12 weeks and help with our English Conversation classes.

You would be participating in theses English classes for 2-3 times a week in the evening sitting and helping different Spanish people practice their English fluency. During the day you would have the opportunity to learn more about the Spanish culture (taking language classes, visiting/touring local cities such as Madrid, and maybe even catching up with some of the friends you have made in the English classes).

The Need

Spain has a history of religion mixed with politics and for most Spanish people it is hard to separate the two. In a country with less than 2% evangelical Christians and a growing group of religious “nones”, Spanish people, like many of us, are tempted to fill their lives with better homes, jobs, and vacations, always looking for an external peace that in reality can only be found internally.

The Impact

Just sitting and talking gives a moment of pause to reflect on priorities through some of the deeper conversational topics that we cover each week in our classes.
