Overview
At ABWE Canada (ABWE Global Inc.) we respect the confidentiality of your personal information, and it is our responsibility to ensure that it is protected. We are providing you with this statement to tell you how we safeguard information you give us and to inform you of how we use this information.
We do not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to third parties.
We distribute personally identifiable information about you within the ABWE family of ministries only to the extent necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which you have provided the information. For example, if you request specific information to be sent to you or you order resources, we will provide the appropriate information such as your name and address to the department fulfilling your request.
At the time you fill out an online form or send us an email, you are provided with an opportunity to tell us regular information which you wish to receive. We are likely to send you information about ABWE Canada or its ministries by mail or email, but will respect any request to stop receiving this information at any time, and all regular email communications include an opportunity to opt out of receiving further broadcast email.
ABWE Canada provides opportunities for credit card transactions, and voluntarily provides below more detailed information such as is required from commercial sites about our privacy procedures.
Information Collected
Personally identifiable information that you disclose depends on what you are requesting. It may include credit card information to process your request for resources or to make a donation, information needed for one of our departments to process your request for information such as opportunities for missionary or volunteer service or giving opportunities, both current and deferred through specialized contractual arrangements (gift annuities, trusts, etc.), information you supply when completing a survey or evaluation, and information you supply when contacting donor services, church relations or other “customer service” representatives.
You are not required to answer any question or provide any information requested, and can decline to the exchange of your information within the ABWE family of ministries at any time. However, if you choose to withhold requested information, especially items shown as “required” in a form, we may not be able to provide you with some of the resources or services which are dependent on this information, or to process your request.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to fulfill your request for information or services. In doing so, we add it to our mailing list and, if we have an email address we add it to our email list. It is our practice to send those on our list a complimentary subscription to our quarterly publication, the MESSAGE. This informative magazine contains missionary reports, challenging articles about missions subjects, children’s page, and other material relevant to our purposes as a missionary sending agency proclaiming the gospel throughout the world. Those on the email list may receive periodic broadcast emails with news or information about ABWE ministries or services. Each email includes an opportunity to opt out of future communications.
We honour all requests to discontinue such appeals. At no time do we sell or rent our information or supply it to third parties, whether commercial or ministry entities. When it is made available to a missionary or other employee of ABWE, it is only for an approved mission purpose, and our employees are reminded not to retain or pass on this information for any purpose whatever. Our employees are subject to sign a statement of confidentiality which requires them to maintain the confidentiality of your information. We also maintain prudent security standards and procedures to protect against unauthorized access or use of your personal information and records, including a system of password protection and physical, electronic and procedural safeguards.
If you initiate a relationship with an ABWE missionary or department, they will be given access to your information for their ministry purposes. Again, they are expected to limit their use to these purposes and have no permission to pass it on to third parties.
Notice Concerning Information and Images on this Website
At no time may any personal information on this site, including email addresses of employees, be used for any purpose other than personal correspondence or contact. It may not be made a part of any other list to be used for marketing or other mass mailing.

We are a Data Controller of your information.
ABWE Canada’s legal basis for gathering and using the personal information described in this Privacy Policy depends on the Personal Information we accumulate and the specific context in which we collect the information:
- ABWE Canada needs to perform a contract with you
- You have given ABWE Canada permission to do so
- Processing your personal information is in ABWE Canada’s legitimate interests
- ABWE Canada needs to comply with the law
ABWE Canada will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will keep and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. If you wish to be informed what Personal Information we hold about you and if you want it to be removed from our systems, please contact us.

Log Files
ABWE Canada follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this, as it is a normal method of hosting services’ analytics. The information acquired by log files includes:

- Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- Date and time stamp
- Referring/exit pages
- Number of clicks
This data is not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is solely for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Note that ABWE Canada has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for anything other than the aforementioned purposes.
Children’s Information
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
ABWE Canada does not knowingly collect any Personally Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child has provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately, and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
Online Privacy Policy Only
This privacy policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in ABWE Canada. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.
